Have you ever been to the Carousel of Progress at Walt Disney World in Florida? That is the one attraction that, as a family, we have to visit each time we're there. "Now is the time, now is the best time. Now is the best time of our lives..." If you have been there, that song is now stuck in your head for the rest of the day. That was my goal.
Now is the best time to schedule your 2018 auctions!
At the beginning of the year, set the entire schedule of auctions through December. Announce the schedule at each upcoming sales meeting throughout the year. Send emails that include this schedule to your Sales team occasionally. Post the auction schedule in several conspicuous places around the office. Make plans to host closing day put lucks or opening day breakfasts.
Having these dates in front of your team not only allows for the excitement to build, but it also allows them to keep this tool in mind as they are reaching out to the local merchants and encourages conversations around the office to bolster involvement in participation, social media posting and sharing as well as thinking of additional merchants that may be good prospects for the auction platform.
